A for ALPHEN!!!

The 31st of January,  Norman Henshilwoods annual interhouse athletics. Alphen, Maynard, Silverhurst, Constantia.  These 4 houses compete to see who will win, of course.   This year, the team spirit was judged too, and a house can also win a spirit trophy.
I've been in Alphen for all 5 years of my high school career. I love being in Alphen. Everyone was like one big family. And our colour, red, is so vibrant.
The whole school was divided in the hall according to their house. The cheerleaders from each house had to go on stage and battle it out. I was a cheerleader, but at first I wasn't too happy about being one,  but what the heck, its my last year and no matter if we suck, I'm cheering with my soul for my house♥
Alphen's theme was Warriors, or 'brave heart' (something like that). It was the first year we decided to make up our own cheers, not just use 100 year old boring cheers. All 4 houses were craved to win the spirit trophy. I thought to myself, even if we don't win the real thing, at least we will win the spirit cup. I was suprised by how much spirit Alphen had. In our walk in, we even had horses!!! I thought it would be impossible not to win the spirit cup!!! But Maynard (blue team) also had a good chance of winning since their theme was pretty awesome. They had a beach theme and I'm sure the whole school wanted to be part of Maynard that day since it was extreamly hot and they looked as if they were just chilling at the beach.
At the end of the day, before they announced the winners, I didn't care if we went home with no prizes what so ever, all I wanted to do that day, was have fun. And I did.  It's our last year and my hunger for fun was stronger than my hunger for that spirit trophy.
BUT, they announced the spirit cup winner, and guess who won!!! Yours truly, Alphen!!! But that's not all, we also won the whole athletics!!!!
For 4 years I never bothered about who won, or who came last. But it's our last year and I'm damn proud to be part of the wining team with the most spirit. I couldn't have asked for a better day. I couldn't have asked for a better school.
