Yesterday I shot my friend.  LOL, like camera shoot, calm yo' toes. She wanted me to take pictures for her post on the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week event that took place. So she decided to take some shots of me, and here are a few of the results. I have no idea what I was doing and what I was wearing. Oops. -Raah

I hardly ever have Outfit Of The Day posts because, well, 90% of the time I don't look presentable. But for that 10% when I look sexy eh, average,  I tend to ask my mom to take pictures of me and that would result in an epic failure. This post is an example of one of those failures.  So my mom and I went missioning, looking for material and shoes for eid (we found nothing), and I just wore something comfortable because I thought we would do lots of walking (we didn't). I love the vintage choker that my grandmother gave me, it reminds me of something that Greer (a character on the show 'Reign') would wear. I added a black bow to my turban since I miss wearing bows so much and I won't let the turban stop me from wearing one.  But yeah, so that's my clothing. (This is extremely awkward) -Raah

I always thought it would be stupid to attend a matricball when you have already passed matric, but when on of my friends asked me, I was like: hey, why not? I mean, I didn't have a partner last year to my own matricball and I wanted to know how it would be to have one. And plus, I get a dress out of it as well. Everyone is so sick of seeing me in shades of blue and green, but when I found this piece of lace laying around in my grandma's sewing room I had to go with it! Besides, I love shades of teal, it's more mermaid-y that way.  I was a bit disappointed when my friend had to cancel on doing my hair and make-up. But my other friends stepped in and did a good job for a last-minute matricball do.(We do not know how to use a curling iron properly but okay) what was also pretty cool is that I wore heels to this matricball, and don't worry, I did not fall. Despite Zayn not being there, the concert was AMAZING.  It's so surreal when you're watching them and its like: They are actually here. I'm looking at them right now. In frickin 4D.  The boys killed it. It was so worth sitting in the queue for 8 hours and then waiting in the stadium for another 2 hours.  Sorry if you weren't there, you missed out big time. -T

So it was my cousins bridal shower yesterday and the theme was kind of an Arabian/Moroccan vibe. I had no idea what to wear, so when I found this pants in my cupboard, I decided to go as a gypsy type of hippie person. Anyone who knows me knows that I love watching this series called Reign. This outfit was inspired by Kenna (A character on Reign), since she has this boho-hippie look that I am in love with. The headpiece is a DIY by my friend, Tasneem (you guys should totally check her blog out here ). Don't be dissapointed, there are many affordable amazing headpieces like this in stores such as Lovisa, or even on the amazing online store The Ramp ( www.theramp.co.za ). I love this Culotte (bought at Truworths) since it looks like a skirt but its actually not, haha april fools. Its sooo comfortable. Like Pajamas. Catch ya later my beautiful mermaids :) -T

What the hell Tharaah where have you been? For those who don't know, I'm currently studying at UCT. Gosh, it feels so weird saying that I 'matriculated'. And constantly on a mission trying to Google comebacks for: "OMG how are you done with school? You look like you are still in grade 9!". For my whole high school career, the teachers were always telling us how much more different university is compared to high school. I did what every average teen did and simply ignored all the useless chatter that came from their mouths. Unfortunately, Mr Febs (my ex-physics teacher) was right. Its not only the work that is completely mind blowing, but other social stuff as well. For example: 1)  I knew there would be a bunch of hipsters. But the perspective we have of hipsters in high school is nothing compared to university. Literally, there are levels of hipsterism, if that makes sense. There are those hipsters with those balloon type of pants and the loose sided braid...

New Year New Me!!! Time to change my hairstyle, the way I dress and complete my journey of being a total hipster!!! OH HELL NO. Honestly, I don't think that we should change ourselves just because one digit in the year changes. I am the same person I was yesterday AKA last year. Yes, I know, we can't help the excitement of the new year and new memories to be made. And another thing that many might disagree on is that I don't really believe in 'New Year Resolutions'. Okay, it is cool to have goals for the year, but we put so much pressure on trying to achieve those goals, we dont even get close to achieving it. And apparently it's the new cool thing to have new years resolutions. But, at the end of the day, we are all entitled to our own opinions :) So good luck with attempting to bungee jump this year.
